What is Cheaptrunk?

In short: Cheaptrunk is this website and my main personal project.

It’s a small virtual private server on Hetzner, a European cloud provider. It serves this website through Caddy and runs a handful of n8n automations, like a subtitle translator and a job-offer scraper that scores listings against my CV.

The goal is to have a lab where I can find cost-efficient solutions to real-life problems, integrate AI models into workflows in a practical way, and keep feeding my curiosity about technology.

In the following posts I’ll go deeper into the architecture behind Cheaptrunk: the technical choices I made, why I made them, and the problems I’m trying to solve.
